Jarrod M. Marotto died Wednesday, July 17, when a large tree limb fell on the driver's side of his vehicle in front of 3595 Park Ave., said Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras.
When officers responded they found Marotto, of Southington, unconscious in the driver seat, Kalamaras said.
Police and fire rescue had to wait for an electrical crew to shut down the power before being able to free him from the vehicle.
He was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital staff.
Born in Middletown, Marotto was the son of Glenn and Donna (Brodzinski) Marotto of Southington.
He graduated from St. Paul's High School and received a bachelor's of science in psychology from Sacred Heart University.
Marotto worked as a personal trainer at Phatburn Fitness Studio in Stamford, his obituary said.
"There, he could offer to other's two of the best qualities about him which were his love and compassion for others and his passion towards improving peoples lives," the obituary said.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Chrissy Marotto of Southington, his maternal grandparents John and Regina Brodzinski of Florida, his paternal grandparents Charles and Beverlee Marotto of Southington and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, July 21 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., along with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
